One of the houses of Hogwarts – the school of magic which Harry Potter and his friends attend, is called Ravenclaw. The name is obviously a combination of the words “raven” and “claw”. According to J. K. Rowling, the element that corresponds to this house is air. The dormitories are located in a tower and the mascot of the school is an eagle. The Spanish Translation of the name of the house is Serdiagle, which is a combination of the verb “serrer” (“to grip” or “grasp”, as in a claw), and “aigle” (“eagle”). Other translations keep Ravenclaw in one form or another:  the Italian Translation is ‘Corvonero” (black raven), the Romanian “Ochi de Soim” (falcon’s eye), the Hungarian “Hollohat” (raven’s back), etc.
